early labor?

I'm so confused. I've been having BH contractions for some time now but today I've been feeling something worse, it started out as a small sting in my stomach and radiated to my back. It only lasted a few seconds but hurt pretty bad then baby started to kick and that just intensified the pain. It's been 10 years since I've had a baby and I'm only 34 weeks I can't be having contractions this early, can I?! It would be 6 weeks early, as much as I want to see my little one I'd like for her to get all the nutrients she needs before she pops out. The contractions subsided now but I'm afraid that I'll go into labor early.

I've been having pretty hard BH too, I'm 36 wks. I read up several articles online. What I read is it is most likely dehydration. I know I haven't been drinking as much water as I should lately, so I'm going to give it a try, hope it works. Another thing I read is if Ur sitting get up & walk, and if Ur standing sit down. If u have more than 4 an hr call Ur dr.

I started getting contractions at 28 weeks .. My cervix has also been shortened since 28 weeks though . Lol ive had to get weekly shots for 9 weeks to keep me from going into labor ! But im at 35 w ( 36 w sunday ) and this friday is my last shot because supposedly its safe to have her if she decides to come once you hit 35 w so honestly i wouldnt worry about it (:  if something was wrong your ob would've definitely noticed just take it easy dont stress ! Good luck

Thanks. Only problem was that I was at work when this happened so it was hard to rest. Thanks for the advice. I think at this point I really should start taking it easy.
