engaged vs dropped?

What's the different between the babys head being engaged and the baby dropping? I'm 37 weeks and last week I asked the doctor if the baby dropped and he felt around and said his head is engaged. Anytime I tell anyone that they say my belly still didn't drop. Could it not look that way because I have an anterior placenta?

Thank you that's what I thought. Same thing with me I feel jabs really low but kicks in my ribs and I still have heartburn.

It's the same thing, your belly and baby drop once babys head is engaged. If your doc says your babys engaged then you have dropped. My babys head is engaged but my tummy doesnt look like it's dropped much (and she's so long I still get heartburn and rib kicks).
