Hey ladies I had my glucose test Friday and later that afternoon I was called and told my levels were 213 and I have gestational diabetes... I feel like I failed as a mother and should have eaten better... baby is healthy and I'm a great weight but I feel horrible... I have no idea what I should be eating or drinking and I'm scared I don't want anything to happen to my prince...I need help desperately!!! Any suggestions

Me too. In 5th grade I got my blood drawn before school and fainted on the way to school.  I've also fainted, drooped, shook and eyes rolled back at the eye dr.
Hope my son don't have any issues like that

I have a history with fainting and didn't, but I had my appointment at 10am, so I just ate right after. Everyone is different,  just something I tried that worked.

@HHuston I heard not to eat the day of your first hour glucose test from people and I fainted and didn't get to finish.

Are they having u take the three hour test? I was reading A LOT of blogs where women tested positive for gestational diabetes on the one hour test, then took the three hour test and tested negatively. Everyone suggested not eating before the one hour test, so I didn't eat and I passed.

Inositol supplement was the only thing I found effective. Some people swear by cinnemon - you will need lots of it better in supplement pills.

Awe im so sorry u feel like that! I found out I had GD about a week ago and have been having to stick my finger and they put me on a really strict diet. At first I was devastated cuz had no idea what i was doing wrong. But now that I am following my diet my numbers have gone down dramatically! No juice or sweets some fruits are even bad and I have cut out carbs as well. As long as baby is doing well im willing to do whatever I can for this short period of time! You will get thru it honey...:-)

Sometimes it's just hormones and it should go away after baby comes. I wouldn't feel like I failed! Just focus on the fact that the baby is healthy :-) just make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating as healthy as you can.  You can also limit the amount of fruit or juice you consume, which has lots of natural sugar.
