potential down syndrome
Last week at 23 weeks we had our anatomy scan. With it, I found it abnormal that the tech wasnt talking much and took a lot of pictures of the heart.
Today I got a call asking us to come in because there is a fold at the back of the neck they were concerned about. When I asked them to explain what it meant... they told me about the possibility of down syndrome. We go in tomorrow to meet with the doctor. But I'm truly a mess. I love my daughter regardless and have nothing against special needs... but it has me depressed beyond anything. Her heart and everything looked great to me, her heartbeat has always been strong, and the blood test we did in the beginning showed no signs. Has this happened to anyone else and how did it turn out? I need some reassurance right now.

Idk if you're a religious person but give God your problems. If He put you to it, He will put you through it.
Everything will be ok. Just stay positive and pray. God is right beside you :) <3 have a safe and Blessed pregnancy everyone <3
My baby has a soft marker for downs too. She has a calcium deposit on her heart. We have another ultrasound on Monday.im trying not to worry about it buts it's hard. Just try to Stay positive, everything will be okay regardless. ;-)
They are putting me on "high risk" for the second time during this pregnancy. I go tomorrow at 820 for an appt. Then they are scheduling another ultrasound with a high risk doctor and that will happen in the next couple of days. It's exhausting how emotional this pregnancy has been.
My babe had a thick neck fold and I had to wait 4 weeks for a follow-up. It was the longest 4 weeks of my life. They told me not to worry but its inevitable and I went crazy googleing and YouTubeing good stories about having a DS baby to make me feel better. At my follow-up they found it's all good! Praying really helped too. I'm sure your baby doesn't have downs if that's the only marker they found. Will you go for a follow-up?
