induced, successful vbac! with big baby!!

So I just want to share my story on what my labor was like so other moms might know what to expect. I wanted a vbac and I was carrying big so before I went to far past my due date i was induced. On my due date;) on June 19 I had my son. Anyway I went in to the hospital in the morning to start my pitocin drip. I was only one cm dilated  so the Dr also gave me a Foley catheter. Basically they put a tube in my cervix and blew up a balloon to inflate it to 4cm before it falls out. It took a couple hours. But within one hour of the pitocin my contractions were strong and steady, every 2-3 minutes. It didn't hurt. Just felt like the baby moving. At lunch time though it got rougher so that is when I requested my epidural. I got it. It was 1230. It didn't work and the pain was awful. So within the hour the anesthesiologist manually injected drugs into it to kick start the relief. It didn't work. So he gave me a second epidural. My legs got heavy, they were tingling but I could still feel pressure and pain and temperature. He injected more drugs. Nothing. My contractions were increasing. 2 minutes apart and lasting 60 second. It felt like my ovaries were exploding inside me or my old csec scar was tearing open. Why could I still feel pain?! Then a second anesthesiologist came to try to help me. More drugs. Again. Again. Again. Nothing. I was so tired of getting beat up and so frustrated. I just wanted sleep. My last shot was a third epidural and if I could still feel pain there was nothing they could do for me. I even begged for a csec at this point but they wouldn't give up on me. And also I already had so many drugs in me that three full grown men would have been knocked out. I finally got the last epidural and to my surprise it worked!! I'm going to thank the lord for that one because I sure was doing alot of praying while I was getting poked. Finally I was numb. It was about 430pm. I was struggling with that pain for four hours during those three epidurals and cried the whole time. Dr checked my cervix. I was only 7 cm and it turned out my cervix had a lip around it preventing me from dilating more. So they gave me more pitocin. I was finally numb so I closed my eyes and slept for a couple hours. Around 7pm I was woken up for a cervix check. 8cm. That lip was still there holding my baby in. More pitocin. More sleep. Thank god because I really needed it! At 9pm-ish the Dr came in to wake me up. He said "OK I'm just going to check your cervix, oh look 10cm! OK let's push" i said no, I just woke up and I'm too tired to push. So I covered my head like a rebellious teenager while he tried to coax me out of the blanket. 10 minutes later I was awake enough to participate. I pushed for four contractions and finally got my baby out. Successfully! My son was born at 925pm and weighed 9lbs 9oz!! Moms, I'm telling you, if I can go through that hell and do it then I KNOW you can try to do it too! It was so worth it. My recovery time is going to be short and I have a shot at keeping a healthier body now. Good luck to you moms!!!

No this is my third. Like with my first child I only needed 1 stitch. Don't know how I pulled that one off but I'm grateful. I was in labor for 14 hours

Did you suffer from tearing with your baby being so heavy?  I had a 3rd degree tear on june 18th delivery and my son was only 8lbs 4oz. Was this your first child? This was my first child. Congrats to you. I had 12 hrs labor total, pushed for 2hrs 10mins.

I felt the paun part alright! I was due on the 13th and my water broke on the 11th. I was in the hospital for two days on pitocin and i didnt dialate past a 4. I was so frustrated and the contractions killed! I had back labor. On the 3 day they said alright mama its up to you. Do u want your baby today, if so we need to do a c section because my body would not progress any further. I was in pain and the epidural made me puke up the chicken broth because my legs were so heavy that evety time the nurse made me rotate or empty my catheter that id through up. The WORST part was....when they were operating on me i was crying and pretty much screaming on the table, trying so ******* hard to move my arms out of the wraps around my wrists. I was NOT NUMB ALL THE WAY. My husband was balling because he couldnt help me. He tryed so hard to talk me threw it all but struggled because he was crying and when baby came out he had seen what they had done to me and i thought he was going to faint!! He just stood there staring at my belly for a minute then looked at baby. All that pain and disappointment was 100%. Worth it! My boy was 9lbs 4oz. He only cryed for a second. When ever someone tryed removing him from my arms hed cry so hard. What can i say...he loves his mama;)
