Also inductions don't always work, i was hooked up to the pitocin for a good 24 hours and never dilated past a 1,  which is where I was the week before the induction. And my milk never came in, i tried to breastfeed but I would literally pump for 30-45 minutes and not even have an ounce.

It's not harmful for your baby but labor tends to be worse. Your contractions more intense/stronger etc like 2015Harmony said!! I really hope that I can go into labor naturally this time my first labor was induced and wasn't a pleasant experience

Your risk of c section goes up if you don't have a medical reason to get induced.

I agree with the 2 ladies above and if you plan on breastfeeding they say it can take your milk a little longer to come in due to the medicine that you are given which can be even more stressful for you and baby

No it's not good to get induced just because. & Ur dr isn't going to bcuz Ur mom thinks it would be easier (&fyi it's NOT easier on U) U may be induced if you go a wk past Ur due date or risks arise for the baby. Not to mention it is painful!! My water broke with my 1st so they put me on pitosin which is what induces the labor. Trying to move it along make it quicker (it didn't). It makes your contractions harder/longer/ more intense & closer together. And it doesn't mean the baby will come faster, I labored for 17 hrs 1st (while induced w hard intense contractions-plus if u go that long even w an epidural. The epidural can wear off before it's time to push-they won't give U another epi if the 1st wears off) then I had an emergency csection because both baby & I became distressed and our vitals dropped. It's best to wait until the baby & Ur body are ready to deliver. I know it's hard being pregnant but soon the baby will be there & then U get to figure out this new lil person. Good luck & be patient.

No its not harmful to baby but theres no reason to be induced unless theres health risks or very overdue...i know doctors here will not induce you just because the mother wants it,there has to be a health concern,i was 10 days overdue with all mine, baby deserves the chance to come in their own good time which is the right way to go about it
