Went to bed at 8 something n woke up at 1am. to CRAZY heart burn. It was getting hard to breath and I started coughing. To top that off my back started hearting for the first freaken time during the night. I'm now regretting complaing that there was something wrong with me because I wasn't achy like most moms. Damn!!! Anyways ended up puking and couldnt go back to bed until 2 something. I'm now up and exhausted. Like to the point that I'm just sitting on the couch with food n no tv on. Any one else have nighta like this. 28 weeks

I was having the same issue. My doctor recommend that I chewed gum after I ate for 30 minutes to keep the stomach acid down and also take tums. Ever since, I haven't been getting heartburn. Im 28 weeks as well. Hope this helps hun!

Yep. I have woken up to the acid in my throat feeling and coughing and sometimes it's so hard for me to breath. Can't sleep in my back at all or my heart will pound which is normal, but sleeping on my side is causing bed pains on my hips so I wake up very uncomfortable and I have an active 3 year old so I have to get up. Sometimes he moves and it makes it even harder to get comfortable. Sleeping for me is a mess and it started about 27 weeks. Im 29 weeks right now and it's getting more and I figured it would the bigger he gets. You are not alone.

According to me nothing is normal about pregnancy, but it is a common side effect of pregnancy.

I had several nights like this. Waking up with acid in my throat.. yuck. I thought about sleeping in my recliner but i.stead I just got one of those.chair pillows and I prop myself up in bed to sleep. Hard to get used to but better now. Plus i.can still sleep next to hubby. It's a win win for me.

That is the worst. I don't know what your rituals are before bed, but here are some of the things that helps me: I have an extra pillow under my head, you will get used to it. Do not lie down for at least an hour or so after you ate. Do not drink fizzy drinks or eat chocolates just before vedtime. Keep Rennies next to your bed for just in case.
Sometime I can feel that I am going to have a difficult night and chew 2 rennies before I get into bed.

I hope this helps. Best of luvk to you.
