mucus plug

I have been losing big chunks of my mucus plug all day today. This has happened before but it is much more today than ever. Anyone experience this and go into labor? I'm 38 weeks.

All my friends lost there plugs around 38 weeks and didn't give birth til after due date. So it's not always a indicator of labor. Contractions r the only give away
