Our story is very similar. About 2-3 years ago I lost 100 pounds and was 125 pounds. I was so proud of myself. I loved being thin. I got off of my shot when my husband and I decided to try to have a baby and was at 150 pounds when I got pregnant. Now I'm 173 and struggling. I cry constantly about my weight. I think of myself as fat, and wonder how I will ever get this weight off. I'm terrified. I almost feel guilty because I know the weight is for the health of my child, but I am really struggling with putting it on! The app tells me my weight is excessive even though I'm on track to gain 35 pounds which is average.
I agree w what jrluker said... You have to get moving. Walking is great!!!!! I walk when I can if it's warm enough (I can bundle up but I have a 18 month old baby, so I don't like taking her outside if it's cold). Or I workout w a home prenatal DVD. (I have 2 small children & the only way I can workout is getting up at 6am, before making breakfast, lunch for school, change the baby, get the kids to school, etc.) Not only will working help keep the lbs down but it will help keep aches/pains away, you'll sleep better & it will help w delivery. I started gaining a lot of weight w/in a 2 wk time... So I looked @ what I was eating. It was bread, crackers, sweets, all the bad processed food. You don't want to diet when prego but instead if eating calories start eating for nutrients. Plus the more nutrient rich food is so much better for baby. I did & it's made a HUGE difference. I eat carrots, Greek yogurt, raw almonds, fruit, celery, lean protein, cheese sticks, raisins, & avoid carbs. Drink a lot of water, tea, instead of juice. If U eat healthy, workout & drink more water you'll find your weight staying in a healthier range. Unfortunately when the baby is born you only loose 10/20 lbs so it's important to stay as healthy as U can while prego. It's hard I know, this is my 3rd pregnancy. But u can do it. Good luck
Every body is different and every pregnancy is different. I weighed 150 when I first became pregnant with my first. I struggled with toxemia during my pregnancy and by the end I was so swollen I weighed 225. It took about 6 months after to shed all the water weight. The closest I have come to that weight since is 170. That was really hard for me to deal with, but my husband has really helped me by reminding me how beautiful I am, and I work to stay fit. I don't know your entire situation, but if you haven't tried yet here are a few suggestions that might help.
Cut out as many carbs as possible.
Drink a ton of water with things like lemon, cucumber, watermelon in it.
If your not on bed rest walk everyday.
Stay away from processed foods and restaurants (the salt will make you swell and gain more weight).
Eat lots of fresh foods and veggies.
Communicate with your Dr. Set weight goals with your Dr not any app. Let them know how you feel. Even your depression and anxiety over gaining weight can cause you to gain weight.
Remember you are beautifully and wonderfully made and you are making a little person who will be just as wonderful.
