What is the cost of your visit?  I changed obgyns, and my new one prices out at $250 a pop.  Is this crazy?

Ironically I work for the insurance company that I have.  You'd think it'd be better.  But we have a high deductible and then we get 80/20 copay.

Mine is all free and covered thankfully. Saskatchewan..Canada! I didn't realize it was so expensive for other mommies around the world.

Oh my goodness that's alot. I have insurance through my job and my obgyn appointments only cost $10, my ultrasounds are $40, and I don't pay when I go, I get billed. I'd switch insurance if I were you because that's outrageous.

40 every visit. Its like a maternity bank.  They hold  my payments to be applied to the overall total cost that way I dont get a huge bill at the end

i pay $45 or $65 per office visit (depending if it's my ob or the prenatal diagnostic center). plus i pay some other fees if they're checking blood or doing an ultrasound. so far i've paid roughly $400 towards medical bills since i became pregnant. i'm 22 weeks now. no clue what the delivery is going to cost us though! call your insurance and have them go over your bill step by step. they're usually pretty good with that.

It should be $250 per visit-7, plus $1750 for the delivery if he comes naturally. Plus lab work and hospital fees.

Is that your co-pay office visit WITH insurance?? That seems very high. I'm pregnant with my 3rd now, each time I had different insurances and with all the prenatal checks/ visits I did not get charged for. My 1st there may have been a 30 copay. For my other 2 I think there was an initial first visit charge but my dr also did a quick ultra sound to check the babies position. I'm high risk too and even at the ultra sound/genetic dr with my last charged a fee at the first visit but not at any of the following ones. I would look into it. The front office may not have entered your insurance info correct. If it's correct I would find out what you get charged through the pregnancy and delivery. Delivery for me was 20k (had to have a csection) we paid I think about 7k after insurance... Or check with your insurance sometimes (especially now with all of the new medical laws-Obama Care... it changed the way certain things that were covered before) but your insurance may be able to switch it around so you get better maternity care w/out changing premiums or anything else.

I don't pay every time I go in..so far my total bill had been $140.00 and that covers all my prenatal visits and ultrasound plus birth. My husband has fantastic issuance tho.

In australia I pay $85 per visit and get $40 something back from Medicare, also just paid $1,500 pregnancy management fee which covers the delivery.... $250 sounds a bit steep! I'm high risk so see my obstertrician every 3 wks... I'd be broke paying that every 3 weeks!!
