The pedicure itself is safe, however you are right about the fumes. If you walk in and smell chemicals already it'd be safer to skip it. If they have good ventilation you'd be fine for the short time you're getting your pedi.
I try to go when they open. This way the chemicals and fumes have not permeated.
Find a salon &spa rather than a nail shop. All the acrylic and solutions used in a nail shop are too much for us. (And I did nails for a living up until my 4th month)
A salon and spa is safer, cleaner, and they don't see as many nail clients so the fumes are almost non existent.
My doctor allows me to get my nails done, i have acrylic nails.
I get my nails done all the time never had any problems
I hey my mails and pedi every two weeks and baby is totally fine and I just ask if they can keep the door open that way the fumes are less stronger
I second the recommendation to find a salon/spa rather than nail place. That's what I did because I was afraid of the chemical fumes and the nail dust and the place I went didn't smell at all.
