Also I don't know how many of you are like me but I try to find new fun things for him to explore sfely and I wanted to share my ideas with you all:
Hidden toys-We have a nook (4-5 inch space between a cabinet and the wall) that used to hold printer paper, photo paper, rolled posters etc. Well he was always getting into it and tearing things up, so I cleaned the space out and put a paper bag in it. The paper bag holds some of his toys and he squeels when he digs it out and finds all these things that he can play with. I change them out every so often for new tews to keep him interested.
Shakers-I took a couple 5 oz brestmilk bottles and put beads, glitter and tiny bells inside then I super glued them shut. He loves to look into them and shake them around. He shakes them at the cats and dogs too and then giggles.
Colored Water- I took 5 different size clear soda bottles (two 2 liter, two 16 oz and a mini little 4 oz). I took the labels off and filled them to different heights, making sure weightwise they were still managable for Phin. I then used some food coloring to make 5 different colors and I then super glued the caps back on the bottles. I wish I had thought about it, I would have added some glitter or beads. We played with them in a sunbeam and he loved holding his hand in the colored shadow, he was laughing so hard. We also found the water bottle colors in our colors book and compared them.
Baby library- We have another space between the couch and wall that makes a great spot to put all his baby books. He likes sitting over there and he pulls all the books out and looks at each one. I think he likes having the ability to decide to do an activity, so I have been "funning" up all the nooks and spaces he can get to.
Baby band-The usual assortment of kitchen gear is used to make up some drums for baby. Tupperware, wooden spoons. Phin loves my whisk to hit pots and pans with. Not good on a day where they may even be a bit of a headache.
Well this was way longer than I expected....Please share some ideas back
