Alex was born

Last Friday I started having contractions.  They started at 9AM and kept coming every 3-4 minutes so I called my OB at 11AM and they checked me  and sent me to L&D.  I was in labor but my cervix wasn't changing and sine I was only 36w2d they couldn't do anything to advance my labor.  My OB was off so the doctor on call for him told me I was definitely in labor but didn't know how long it would be but it would definitely be sometime that weekend.  So I contracted every 2-3 minutes all weekend and my water broke at 10:15AM on Sunday.  I went back to the hospital and contracted for over 3 hours with no cervical change.  I was 1.5cm and 60% effaced.  so they started pitocin and the contractions got a lot stronger and they finally gave me an epidural at 6:30 and I was at 3cm 80% effaced, 5 minutes later I was 5-6cm and completely effaced.  She said she was going to check me 30 minutes later but I called her back less than 5 minutes later and was at 8cm and the doctor came in a couple od minutes later and his head was getting ready to come out.  I had to wait about 10 minutes after that to push because the neonatologist and respiratiry therapy team to get there.  I only pushed 3 times and Alexander Ruben was born at 7:49 PM weighing 5lb 12oz and 18.5 inches long.  He had no respiratory problems but they took him to the nursery to be monitored until almost midnight.  Daddy got to trim the cord after the doctors looked him over and we got to hold him before they took him.  But once they brought him to me that was it.  He was mine...he's got a little jaundice but nothing to worry about.  We both went home Tuesday afternoon.  He's eating good and has his days and nights mixed up.  But I'm love all over again.  The kids love him and Daddy is beside himself as this is his first son.  Good luck ladies with your new babies.  They are all precious angels and deserve the best in everything we do for them  Even when we're dead tired at 2AM and think "oh do I really need to wake this sleeping baby to burp him? only to wake him up and lose more sleep, or ignore hearing that little poopy mess you just heard."  If this is your first just wait and you'll see what I'm talking about.  But it's all worth it, the screaming baby, the poopy diapers, the sleepless nights...I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat<3

I knew he was coming early.  thursday morning I got up and did everything I had left to do and I told Jose I didn't think I was going to make it until Tuesday.  The next morning I went into labor.  Sunday morning I FELT PRETTY GOOD WHEN i got up and I just knew I was going to have the baby.  Sorry about the caps my cell is messing up.
