We went to visit my parents in the morning to drop off gifts and then we went to Hubbys parents house for a bbq lunch...... We then came home and i made dinner for hubby for fathers day.... it was really nice.... we got to see both our dads and spend some time with each other and our kids!
Kele... that is the cutest idea!! I bought one of those kits that you can put the hand or footprint of a child and it casts a mold for plaster to be poured into. Well... there is this stupid stuff you have to mix together to imprint the child's foot/hand. It says mix for 1.5 minutes... wouldn't you know it... 30 seconds later it harded up!!! So, I wasn't able to put Leighton's footprint in the mold. Ughhh... so, I am hoping play dough will be soft enough for me to get her foot imprint and then just pour the plaster into it. Unfortunately I won't have this done for him tomorrow but I am getting it done this week. I feel bad, but it has been a chaotic week and now weekend. Oh well.
We are having a bbq at my brother's house with all the dads. It is so hard to get them together. Nothing much otherwise just relaxing and enjoying the sun hopefully!!
I am excited about Father's Day too. Jim is such a good dad and I can't wait to make him feel appreciated for everything that he does. We are going to head into SF for the day. We will probably go to either our favorite indian or sushi place for lunch then stroll around Golden Gate park and see where the day takes us. I couldn't think of anything really creative to get him (Jack has been a bit tough these past few months so my creative wind has been zapped). I went ahead, though and got him a remote controlled plane. Jim has always loved planes so I thought this would be something fun to do outside. Hopefully if he sticks with it it might be something he and Jack can do together in the future. That is abuot it fir us. Oh Sometime in July we are getting together with a few other couples to celebrate with a "guy's day". The wives are buying a round of golf, bbqing for the guys while they relax and play some friendly poker for the afternoon. That shoudl be fun. :)
Our niece, who was born 5 weeks after Brock, is getting baptized on Father's Day! At least it's just in the morning, so it will be church and then lunch at their house. We're going out to dinner at night with just us. We celebrated Father's Day last week with my family when Brock got baptized. We made daddy a plate from those paint it yourself plate stores, and I got our pictures taken (Brock, the dog, and me) and put in a frame for his office at work. It will be a super fun day even with a Baptism!
My Dad is here visiting us so that alone is fun but we will do the breakfast thing and then maybe a stroll through the farmers market.
I made Chris the coolest thing ever though as a gift from Phin. I got some big wooden letters (D,A,Y) and took tons of pictures of Phin holding them separately. I then printed out three pictures of him with a D, one with an A and one with a Y and took a frame that holds 6 pictures horizontally and spelled out DADDY and with the 6th spot in the frame I put a sweet picture of Chris and Phin together. It is all black and white photos and looks awesome. I will post a picture of it once it is unwrapped. ^_^
Oh yes - us too - brunch too then off to the annual egg toss / golf competition in the suburbs. The event is held every year at the family home of Drew's oldest buddy. Generations will be there and it is always so much fun. And this year - we get to bring out bundle of joy - and I just keep picturing Drew walking in to the BBQ as a proud poppa caring Hayden...I'll take and post pics!
