Goodbye 1st Trimester, Hello 2nd!!

Well, its official... I am 13 weeks today and happily leaving the 1st trimester!  I will be seeing my OB every 2 weeks for the next couple appointments to make sure I get through the beginning of this trimester ok.  Since I miscarried at 15 weeks, I think that they want to reassure me that things are going to be ok during this time.  My due date is still March 1st based on the measurements of the baby.  Well, I hope that you all will be joining me soon!! :)  Is anyone else due that first week of March?

Hi here all!  It' my first time posting here on the March 09 forum

I am also due the first week of March.  March 4th.  As well I am thrilled to be out of the fatigue and naseua filled first trimester.

In regard to the constipation, I was also constipated from day one and I started taking Swiss Kriss and herbal laxative and Whole Foods Fiber Guard Daily both can be bought at a health food store like Whole Foods.  Ever since taking these 2 things
I am regular, what a thing to celebrate!

Happy to connect with all of you who are growing and nurturing the little ones!

I too just hit the 2nd trimester! Where is all the nergy that is supposed to return? I am still one sleepy person. lol

My due date is March 2nd and I couldn't be happier ^_^

As far as maternity wear goes I purchased 3 Bella Bands and they are the most amazing thing ever! I am still in my pre-preg pants but the only difference is that I don't have them buttoned or zipped all the way. The bands really keep up my pants and smooth out the fact that I am walking around with my pants all but undone! The only clothes I really have bought have been some longer tees and tanks to go over the bump that is growing.

Thank you!  I will talk to my doctor about my "issue" and see what she says about the Fiber Choice (although... I am sure that it is fine, but because I take thyroid meds, I need to make sure it won't mess with the absorbtion ;)

Regarding the constipation issue, I have always had somewhat of an issue with that (TMI), but I take a Fiber Choice chewable tablet once a day.  The bottle says take 2, but I just take 1.  My doctor says it's okay to still  take.  I have been pretty okay in that department.  I buy it in a big bottle from Sam's Club...$25 for the bottle.  Just an FYI if you're interested.  Thanks for the well wishes!  Take care!

Amy....
Constipation is my middle name right now.  It is totally unreal... I have eaten every fiber under the sun, plus chug a glass of prune juice in the mornings... and NOTHING happens.  My bloated feeling has deminished, thank god.  I think that the last bout of nausea that I felt was around 10 weeks (?)  I had it more towards the beginning of the 1st.  I know you have said you had a tough time with nausea, so hopefully yours will end in the next few weeks!!

Toes...
You know... I haven't gained any weight yet.  I asked my doctor about it because I was thinking that I should have gained 5 lbs. or so, but she said that it is normal not to.  So, I am going with that response!  I just can't even button my jeans anymore ;(  I have two pairs of capris that I am still barely able to button, but I don't know how long that will last!  I found some jeans and capris at Mimi Maternity on sale a few weeks ago that are really cute.  You wouldn't know that they were maternity clothes.  Anyway, they are comfy :)  Regarding food... I can't stand meat.  I was a vegetarian my entire life, up until January when my OB said that I should begin adding meat protein to my diet, so veggies are still my friend.  I can't stand the thought of chicken.  So, I guess we are opposite in that way!!  I hope your 12 week appt. goes well :)

Congrats on leaving the first trimester behind!!  My EDD is March 9th, so I'm a little bit after you!  We go for our 12 week appt. on Tuesday, and I am very excited to see/hear the heartbeat!  I am very nervous about everything going smoothly and the baby being healthy!  I am also glad to hear that some other ladies are not able to wear regular sizes anymore!  With all the carbs I've been eating, I thought I was just getting chubby!  Do you have any issues eating vegetables?  I have eaten them, lots of them, and I love them!  Now, they make me kind of sick!  It's so weird!  Glad to hear everything is going well!

That is what mine feel like. Tugging and pulling. Only rarely do they feel "crampy". I did a lot of walking yesterday too and that could have triggered it more I guess. My husband and I were walking in the mall and all of a sudden I was like "I HAVE to sit down" it was such a bazaar type of pain. It didn't necessarily hurt it was just odd and since I have never been pregnant before I couldn't really place the pain. But after sitting it was better. But then all last night I had those pains.

It sounds like your little baby is growing too!! Congrats! It is very exciting.

Congrats to the both of you - awesome news. I am one of those mid March people - so excited to get there in a week and a half (I should be 13 wks on Sept 2 or 3). Last night and today I have had a stretching pain off/on - it is only on my lower right side - so maybe this is normal - like your stomach pains? It's not a cramp -- more like a tug / throb? Sound familiar. I also walked a ton yesterday and today so who knows.

I went to Old Navy and bought a bunch of jeans during their sale this weekend. I bought a size bigger than I wear now and I HATE them but I figure it will be cheaper than buying maternity pants just yet...haha. But I am glad to hear that not all maternity pants have to look bad.

My sides are hard too. I am 5'8" and have a freakishly long torso so I am hoping that helps when I carry all the weight but who knows. I feel super fat. And constipated. I had a nightmare last night that my thighs got huge from pregnancy. I woke up going "woah...my priorities are messed up" but it was kinda funny.

Has your nausea worn off??? Mine hasn't. I am still taking my Zofran at least 2 times a day. Also I have started to break out not only on my face but on my chest??? I am gross. :(

But the good thing is is that we are almost out of the woods with miscarriages! I have been very nervous about that and I know there is nothing that I can do if I am to miscarry but still no one wants that. (Obviously)

Yeaaa... I have a first week partner.  I was kinda bumming because it seemed like a lot of people were due in the middle of March :)  Glad to hear there is someone else due the first week.

Yes... I get these sharp muscular pains.  I *think* those might be round ligament pains?  I don't really know though :)  I am only 5'0 and I have a relatively small pevic area, so my uterus is well above my pubic bone now :)  My stomach is very hard, especially on the sides.  I can't even pretend to fit into any of my pre-baby clothes anymore.  I have been wearing maternity pants for about a week now.  Although, they don't look maternity.  I am kinda weird about that!

I am due the first week! They originally said March 10 and then the baby was measuring bigger so they said I would have a different date but they haven't told me what the new date will be. So I just have to wait for my next appt on Wednesday when I can ask again.

But I am 13 weeks on Thursday so I guess I would be a few days after you!

Did you have any weird stomach pains?? I had weird pains last night but they weren't too severe where I was worried. I figured they were stretching and growing pains? I am starting to feel my stomach getting harder in spots like I can feel the uterus or something.
