Period

Who has gotten their period?  When is it supposed to come or is it one of those things where everyone is so different?  I have not gotten mine yet, so I am just wondering what's going on with everyone else.  Thanks!

I didn't have any other side effects, but after I had it removed (to conceive little Mark) it took about 4 months for my body to adjust back from the hormone change.

I got the Mirena. I don't mind not having a period! Did you have any other side effects?

Amy- did you get the Mirena or the paraguard? When I had the Mirena I stopped having a period for the entire 3 years I had it! This time I chose the paraguard because it is hormone free and I wanted to be fertile right away when it gets removed. Anyway your spotting should stop soon...

I got a real period at 9 weeks. Then I got an IUD (my doctor and I went round and round on the benefits and disadvantages of one and finally I was convince to get one!) and I am spotting all the time. I have had the IUD for a week and I have spotted almost everyday...sometimes light spotting to heavy. It is annoying....grr. But with the IUD my periods are suppose to stop after 3 months or so...

Well at 11 weeks and 4 days I got the dreaded period. I was so hoping that breastfeeding would stave it off but I guess not...*sigh*

I am with Kele... 9 weeks and no period in sight either.  But, I am breastfeeding and I think that it is pretty common to not get a period if you breastfeed.  I also know that I could be one of those "unlucky" people and get a period even though I am breastfeeding.  I wouldn't mind not getting it though :)

I got mine last month on the 17th...but I think it depends on your body or whether or not you breastfeeding...mine lasted about a week or so the longest period I have ever had.

I did not breastfeed at all and stopped bleeding about 3 1/2 weeks after birth and about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks after that i started to get cramps and got what i think was a period, I felt like one, i had horrible cramps and the bleed was very heavy, it lasted about 6 days.... so I would say it differs from woman to woman and definitely weather or not your breast feeding!

I read that it is suppose to between week 9 and week 12 for most women..and sometimes not until you stop breastfeeding. I am no longer breastfeeding and I had a "teaser" period. It was like the last day of my period where I can wear a small pantyliner and barely fill it. I don't know if that counts as my first period or not though...we shall see how long until my next one. The only hint that I was going to have my period was I got a couple of zits. I use to get one or two big pimples and then I would have awful cramps and that "sense" that my period was coming...but not this time.
So who knows.
