Pretty sure we are in full blown teething mode now

How do you know if they are "teething?"  I mean, I am pretty sure she is teething, but how am I really supposed to know.  Here's what is going on...

1. Clear runny nose off and on throughout the day (first day of this)
2. She chomps on air; looks like she is trying to chew food, but there is no food
3. Can't get enough of frozen wash clothes and her teething rings (this is why I am inclined to think we are getting close to breaking a tooth)
4. HORRIBLE crying at night.  If I didn't know better, I could swear we were back during the first 8 weeks of her life reliving the whole colic issue.  It breaks my heart... all we can do is try and comfort her :(
5.  I can't really tell if her gums are swollen or not... I think they look more pink than normal, but maybe I am just believing that they are red!

Does this sound like teething?  The crying at night is NOT normal for her, that's why I am thinking it is teething?  I feel like a detective trying to figure this out!!!

Awwww Poor thing! It does sound like she is teething! Know will do the chopping thing to or a kinda grinding thingy when there is nothing in his mouth.... Its so hard to tell because I thought that he has been teething for a while now BUT still no tooth....

The teething tables work GREAT! The brand I was told about was Humphry's Teething tablets but they were all out of those at the time and I got the brand Hylands - they seem to really help and they are all natural!

I thought this was interesting. It goes over the order (briefly, I hate reading long articles) that the teeth come in. Also it mentions counter pressure is good. I found that to be true too. Sometimes, when Blake would let  me, I would take the iced washcloth and put it around my finger and push on her gums.  That really settled her down and she would chomp down on my fingers too. Good luck ladies! According to this article these are the easy and less painful teeth- oh goodie.

Okay... I am going to get some today.  She was at my parents last night (John and I had date night!) and my mom said she is without a doubt teething... she cried for an hour and the only thing that helped was the tylynol and the teething rings.

I keep checking every morning to see if she sprouted one over night, but so far nothing.  Her gums are definitely puffy now. I can see the difference.  Before she her gums were wiggly and now I can't wiggle anything :(  They are a little red... not too bad though.

I am trying really hard to get her to let me take a picture! haha There are some hilarious ones but they look like I am digging in her mouth...they look worse than they were for her. :) She keeps putting her tongue over them when I try to help open her  mouth...just wait!! You guys will know what I mean later.. :)

I am pretty sure any pharmacy will have them. Just ask for the "Homeopathic Teething Tablets" and they will know what you mean.

Blake hasn't had another night like that since I got her the tablets. Either conincidental or because of the tablets I don't know..but I will always use the tablets now! When she would get really really fussy over her teeth I gave her tylenol and then tablets and that seemed to work pretty well.

Good luck! It happens fast..like one night she won't have teeth and then the next morning they are there! haha :)

Where do I get them?  Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods?  Or can I get them from any old grocery store?

I felt sooo bad for her last night!  I rocked her in the glider until she was out of it... which I haven't done to get her to calm down in a loooong time.  Poor baby :(  I gave her tylynol last night and about 20 minutes afterwards, she was much better.  I think it helped.

Blake did this 3 weeks before she cut a tooth (?!)  OY!... you mean she has to go through 3 more weeks of this!!!  Ughh... poor thing.  And, I would definitely call it an episode that she had.  That is the perfect term.  I was hoping she was goign to be one of those kids who didn't even realize that they were getting teeth until the tooth was already though... guess not :(

That sounds like Blake a few weeks ago. The crying thing for sure.  I just gave her tylenol and we held her until she finally passed out.

Blake had an episode like that about 3 weeks before she actually cut a tooth though. She didn't have another night like that, where we couldn't do ANYTHING for her. I bought her the teething tablets after that though so that might have helped.

Blake now has two teeth...so I would say yes those are all signs of teething. Try the teething tablets. They are perfectly safe and homeopathic.
