Monday Updates

Phin is 5 months and 2 weeks old....wow. He grows everyday it seems like. ^_^

We have stopped feeding him solids. It seemed like they were really ruining his sleeping habits. We went from getting up once a night to getting up 3-4 times a night. His naps were all off as well and I was slowly sinking into a sleep deprived fog as was Chris. So yesterday was his first day off of solids and he took all his naps and slept like champ last night. Chris asked when I was going to give him the "I told you so" talk about starting solids..I told him it had been worth a try and at least we have the start of knowing what Phin will like for foods.

He is happiest when he is standing and preferably outside. He really enjoys walks and meeting new people. He loves playing "Where is that baby?" I cover him with a light blanket and then whip it off of him to find him and he giggles and kicks and rolls away and then looks at me like "Well...keep playing Mommy!"

We are going to Maine in a few weeks to visit my grandmother and to let her get some great-grandbaby time in. I hope she is still able to hold him as he is much heavier and stronger than last time. We are getting her a DVD player for her birthday so we can send her videos of Phin. It is so hard on me that she lives 8 hours away, being my only blood relative, I just wish she were closer.

I am 3 pounds away from the first of three goals and I am so proud of myself. I am more pleased with the toning that is happening versus the weight loss really.  Finally shirt sleeves are fitting the way they used to and I feel more energetic as well.

I posted some of the professional pictures we had done of the Phinster. I love them!

Noah is 5 months and 1 week (friday) - He hasnt been feeling to good the last couple I think he has a little head cold... He had a runny nose and a cough - he is really congested.... No fever or any other symptoms just the nasal congestion and a little cough.... Poor thing can hardly breath his nose is so stuffed!

Other that his little cold he is doing great! He has started to really grab for things now, anything! Faces, glasses, toys and he actually is really paying attention to people when they talk now.... he would kinda glance your way and be like egh... What do you want LOL but sometime in the last week it just seems like a switch was flipped and he is just so nosey LOL and cant get enough of everythign.......He will roll from back to tummy and but wont really go from tummy to back, he has done it once or twice.... He loves to scoot around and is starting to pull his legs under him in the crawl position but wont get his hands under him quite yet... just the legs...he is still NOT sleeping well and of course I am not going to let him cry it out when he is sick poor thing ( dad says I am delaying it LOL, Maybe a little :-) )

He is doing good on his solids - he eats cereal, Green beans, Sweet Potatoes and his first and only fruit so far - Bananas! He loves to eat and does the little fit or attitude thing too when I am not feeding him fast enough!

Whew these last months have gone by so fast.... and now my little boy is 5 months and just seems like such a different baby from just 2 weeks ago even.... I am amazed at how many new things he has learned!

Carter is 5 months today! He weighs 14lbs10oz, so he hasn't quite doubled his birth weight yet.We are still fighting with the pooping issue. Goes from being constipated with blood in stool to have runny poops 3 times a day. Can't find a happy medium. Although he likes the cereal he hasn't taken to the fruit we've given that the Dr suggested.

I got the results from the x-ray they did on my hip last month. I have a fractured pelvis...no wonder I couldn't wak after I had him. No yoga for at least 6 months and i have to take things kinda easy

I am so happy to hear everyone's updates - I went completely dark over the last week when we went on vacation to FLA ... it was a great trip! Hayden slept on take off and landing and when she was awake during the flight she either yelped her happy yelp or scooged around. This child does not sit still. AT ALL.

She is into grabbing our faces now - eyes, neck, nose, whatever. She loves to stand. She rolls a lot. And spits up a great deal. I am SO OVER the spit up. My guess is she is about 14 lbs now and will be 5 mons on Aug 16.

She had a case of the runs before FLA - went 8-10 times a day! Her little tush was RED. Now she is going about 3-4 times a day. Why so much poop?

I seriously wonder how many times a day I kiss her. Like a million I am guessing.

Nigel is 5 months   26 inches and 18 pounds maybe 20 now...he is getting very heavy. He like applesause and cereal but I dont think that is still enough. The baysitter told me to get some veggies for him but I think he still wants the bottle more. he is rolling from back to forward and forward to backward...holding his own bottle. Smiling and laughing more and more each day he is just a happy baby. He sleeps all the way but he has been doing that for a while now....still no teeth at all...just a lot of drool.

Leighton- 5 months, 1 week

Well... she is completely rearranging her sleep schedule now, which is changes John and my "schedules".  Does anyone really even know what a schedule is these days?!

She was always the baby who was up at least 3-4 times from the time we brought her home until she was 3 1/2 months.  Then, right around the time I stopped breastfeeding she began sleeping through the night on forumla.  Since 3 1/2 months she has been sleeping from 6:30pm-7am (then right back to sleep after her bottle until about 9:30am-10:30am).  Well... she has totally changed this schedule.  As of now, she goes to sleep at 8:00pm and gets up at 6:30am... and is up until about 9am when she goes down for a nap.  I have no clue anymore if she is going to take 2 or 3 naps nor how long they will be.  Guess I will have to start writing her "schedule" down so I can pick up on a pattern.

She is doing wonderfully on solids.  Has been eating them since her 4 month appointment with veggies introduced around the 3 week into her 4th month.  I just gave her applesauce yesterday and she really liked it.  That is her only fruit as of now... she still isn't a fan of squash, so I want to get her more accustomed to bitter things before the good sweet stuff! :)

We have been working on sitting.  She is able to sit straight up for, at most, 5 seconds and then topples to one side.  So, I have been putting the Boppy around her which has helped.  She likes to reach for her toys or our dogs while she is sitting.  It is a whole new world now!

Mady is 4 month and 2 weeks old today!!  I can't believe how fast time has passed.  She is such a doll, most of the tine a very happy baby.  At her 4 mnth appt she was 15lbs and 10 oz and 26in liong, so she is a big baby, in the 97%

We are giving her only cereal for now, in the mext few weeks we will start veggies.  She loves cereal though, and will also gove attitude if we aren't quick enough.

She is rolling from belly to back but not the pther way yet!!!  She is also army crawling.  It is crazy we need to baby proof now too!!!

I start teaching again next Wed.  I am so sad to leave her but she will be with family at least.  I am 8 lbs away from prepreggo weight and have lost the urge to work out.  I am going to buy Wii Active this week.  Hope this helps!!!

Mark turned 5 months old yesterday. For the past 2 days he has had a head cold- you know- runny nose and a cough. So we have had a pretty grumpy boy.

He is so adventurous! Mark loves his toys and seems to prefer little cars over everything else. I had to purchase soft baby cars because he really wanted Micah's hot wheels. Whenever Micah was playing around him Mark woudl try really hard to take the cars away from Micah. It was pretty funny.

Lets see... Mark LOVES solids. Sometimes he will start crying, then refuse breast milk, and scream more until I give him some real food. It is nuts... he is 17 lbs now.

Mark is also starting to do the army crawl. If I place a toy just out of his reach he will grunt really loudly then pull himself forward with his arms. I catch him doing this on his own pretty often...

I went shopping for clothes this weekend... I am one size away from my pre prego size. Shirts, however, are a different story as I wear a 34 F so I have to buy them big!

Blake is doing great! She was officially 5 months on the 5th. We haven't had any problems with her not being able to sleep after she started solids, but she has been a great sleeper from the beginning. She sleeps from 8:30-8:00 and if I am really tired I can put her in bed with me and she will sleep until 9:15. She is like her mama, she needs her beauty sleep! :)

Blake's constipation has passed. (knock on wood) We were giving her prune juice and pears but that was too much for her and we had the opposite problem. I have just cut back her rice intake and I have been giving her pears in her morning oatmeal. I have stopped giving her prune juice as well. She really loves her solid foods! She give me attitude if I don't feed her quick enough.

I swear Blake is almost crawling!! She gets up on all fours and then gets really frustrated because she can't figure out what to do next. I place objects all around her and she will kinda wiggle her way towards them. I am going to have to buy a bunch of baby gates soon..we haven't even baby proofed yet!!! AHH!

I am teaching her baby sign language. Anyone else doing that?? I don't know how in depth I am going to get with it but I figure a few things would be nice. I hope I have enough time though with school starting back up in a couple weeks.

We started going to the Little Gym. She really liked it. She got cranky at the end so 45 minutes is perfect! I am really excited to see how it helps her developmentally.
