I like Amy's suggestion of putting a few in his crib for him to find at night. I would also let him work it out. It really s ucks listening to because you feel bad, I am a believer in that it teaches them that they can rely on themselves for things.
Leighton is also a huge thumb sucker and only took a pacifier for about a month. So, yeah, in a way it is good because she always has something to soothe her but we too are preparing for braces! haha
We let Micah have his until he was 2.5 years old....
hayden is a thumbsucker, BIG TIME. The plus is - we don't worry about her losing her binky. The downside is, I better plan for braces!
I would let him cry it out and look for it on his own. I guess you could put a few in his crib with him so he could grab around and find one on his own.. :( Blake gets her own when she drops it or else I couldn't handle it either!
