In my experience you only gain more weight depending on your body typei was almost 200 lbs before pregnancy and in my first trimester I lost 17 lbs and haver only gained 3 lbs my entire pregnancy so I still weigh less than before I was pregnant but I look like I gained alot lol I'm all baby and I look huge they say with girls we get big and the dad gets fat :) this holds true in my case. Boys your body stays smaller longer so they say but I'm a ftm so I wouldn't know that one for sure

That usually means you were underweight when you got pregnant.  Gender of baby has no effect - it's what your body needs to just be pregnant whether boy or girl.

I gained a littleover 50 pounds with my daughter, 18 lbs with my son, and I've gained about 10 lbs, at 25 weeks on Tuesday, with this little girl. I think it just depends on the baby and hoe your body is adjusting
