Actually a doll sounds like a really good idea that way he can "practice " while baby is getting older and less fragile because he is my big helper I know he will want to do everything that I do. And a big brother book would be really helpful too. Great ideas ladies thank you!  I'm going to get them this weekend!

Studies have shown that boys who have a doll as children grow up to be better fathers, so please don't label them (or any toys for that matter) as "girl" toys or be afraid of giving one to you sons.

I like the doll, stuffed animal or big brother book idea. @mommaenough, it is just a doll, if the child had an older sister I'm sure he would be playing with her things and dolls. What is the problem with him playing with what you consider to be a "girl toy"? I don't understand why people have problems with giving a boy a baby doll yet have no issue with having a little girl play with a truck/car.

Lots of my friends said their boys loved the baby doll. You don't have to get a pink one. It helps them feel included.

Please don't give him a baby doll! Lol smh he's a boy! Get him something like a big brother tshirt or big brother book.

A "Big Brother" themed book, so you can read to him while nursing the baby or something & make him feel included in that time :)

I agree, a baby doll or a stuffed animal to care for while you are carrying for little sibling is a great choice.

I'd also suggest taking your son shopping to pick out a gift for him to give to the baby as well...then he can bring it when he meets the baby for the first time. My kids are a little older (5 & 7), but they have decided to get the baby it's first teddy bear...we just need to go shopping!  Giving will be just as important as receiving for your little guy.

This may sound crazy but get him a baby doll. That way when you are caring for the new baby he can care for the doll. It works really well. That is what my sister did for her boys and what i did and will do for my kids too.
