I got induced due to the same thing i went on a friday i was 2cm when i went in and only dilated a cm by Saturday my doc came in at 1030 broke my water then the fun began so i say go ahead and due it because you face a chance of your baby being a big baby or maybe over due and nobody wants to be over due

I'd avoid induction unless there is a medical emergency to get labor started before you naturally go into labor. Pitocin does make contractions worse and can cause a lot of stress on mom and baby, which leads to a much higher chance of c-section.

I would avoid induction if at all possible. Especially if they plan on giving you pitocen. Pitocen causes way more painful less effective contractions and can make labor so much harder. If you are willing to wait it out let you baby stay right there until your body is ready. Btw happy birthday that's my birthday too!!

I want to be induced but my doctor is refusing to do it, I was due on the 9th and my cervix hasn't even started to thin.  He said he won't do it until after 42 weeks even though I've asked for it because my blood pressure has been really high, but instead he scheduled me for two stress test a week to make sure nothing happens to the baby.

Im being induced next Thursday for the reason I have chronic high blood pressure outside of pregnancy.  Ill have her most likley on the 20th. I haven't dialed at all but thinned some. They worry because she has decreased her movements twice to the point ive gone in and checked on her. They did tell me I run the risk of having a c section because I'm not dilated at all but they can't allow me to go past my due date.

Im honestly okay with going six days early.  My fear of a still born because ive had a friend who had one at thirty eight weeks is enough for me to have horrible gitters.
And ive swollen so much it hurts to walk, sleep, work and do anything.

I agree with kelly, don't do it unless there is a medical reason, your not even due yet, at least wait until after your due date and give your body a chance to do what it was born tO do

Are you having any trouble with your pregnancy?  I would not get induced if it wasn't medically necessary

I haven't been induced, but if you and your baby share the same Birthday, you can forever say he/she was your Birthday present!

I hope my girl comes on Friday, as that is my Birthday.
