Concerned - Is my Dr. overreacting???

Ok so i had my normal two week appt yesterday and my doctor was just really unhappy with me...First of all she was upset becuase Kyra was pretty unactive on Thursday and i didn't go in to have her checked out.  I really was just trying not to overreact bc she started moving around by that afternoon.  So now she wants me doing kick counts everday even though everything checked out perfect yesterday.  So we got past that, but then she looked at my weight...I thought everything was fine and i was gaining normally, but i had actaully lost 2 pounds over the 2 weeks.  She told me that if i don't gain back the weight i lost plus some by my 4/17 appt we were going to have to make some changes ( partial/complete bedrest) until she is happy with my weight.  I completely trust and respect my dr., but that just seems really extreme to me.  I know i could gain the weight she wants by next appt, but i am not willing to do it in an unhealthy way just to make her happy.  To me 2 pounds really doesn't seem like a lot, but she said since it is 20% of what i have gained total is why she is making a big deal out of it.  I haven't changed any of my eating habits, but the weather is finally getting nice here, so i am getting out of the house and being more active.  Am i supposed to just stop any extra activity??  Sorry if this seems like a silly post, i just really don't know what i should do at this point!!!!

I would say she is worried about you not eating enough which would:
1. cause the weight loss
2. cause your blood sugars to stay on the low side
3. with low blood sugars, baby is at higher risk for hypoglycemia ( she is more fragile than you)
4. hypoglycemia could be the cause of decreased fetal movement.

It make sense to me, but I'm a nurse, the thing you need to remember is to get very clarified answers from your OB. Never leave an appointment with any wonder, I've done it a few times and it causes undue stress. So be sure to ask questions, Don't feel like any question or concearn you have is stupid. This is part of their job!

As far as kick counts, you should be doing them daily anyways, we all should be at this point.

I lost 2 pounds in a week, and I'v only gained a total of 3 this whole pregnancy, BUT I was obese to start with, sinse you are thin the baby needs the extra fat to grow, where I have plenty in reserve. Ecspecially right now, our babies at this point are packing on the much needed fat for survial outside the womb!

Get you a good milkshake, yummy and nutrisious! Enjoy the freedom of having those high calorie snacks right now, pretty soon you won't have such a great excuse!

Don't worry dear all is fine!

it seems kinda silly to me that she is so worried about 2 pounds. just being outside and walking i think could have made that change. however she is the dr so maybe there is another reason she is upset, maybe its combined with the decreased fetal movement? even with that i had an nss test on thursday myself and the nurse who did it even said to me this just tells us the baby is fine right now, not 5 hours from now.....ok.so what is the point then, if you felt her move around later in the day things should be ok. do the kick counts just to satisify her maybe. my dr said as long as you have 10 movements an hour things are ok, however if the baby is sleeping you need to do a count again later in the day..............how much have you gained so far? maybe she is more concerned with your overall weight gain and that is why the lose of 2 pounds is a big deal?
dont stress about it, thats not good for either you or baby!
