Non Stress Test ? ? ?

What the heck is this?  Does everyone have it done, if so, when?  My SIL (DH's sister, she's out in left field on most things...) asked me when I was having this done.  And said that you play with your nipples, etc. and the doctor/nurse encourages your DH, DF, BF, whomever to "participate".  I was like WHAT?!?!?!?  Please tell me she is joking!

You won't have one unless there is a need, I will start mine weekly at 32 weeks like Fawn said, but that's just b/c of my meds, Unless you are having problems they won't have ou do it (most likely) They are not fun, you have to lay in a hospital bed and do fetal kick counts, and they monitor the FHR for 30 min to an hour.

Nipple stimulation is bad at 32 weeks! It can make you have uterine spasims! (sp?)
I would tell your SIL if her OB was having her play with her nipples he was just being a PERV! LOL

LoL I've heard of playing with your nipples to bring on labor supposedly but not for the non-stress test. =) I have to start going when I hit 32 weeks but basically what it is they put a belt around your waist to monitor the baby's heart rate and you have to sit there for like 1/2 an hour. I had it done with my son and it's not bad just kinda boring sitting there.
