Quick Question

Okay, so I gave Asa his first few bites of cereal today (7 days shy of 4 months)... he's been consistently eating about 6 oz. per feeding and chewing on his hands and pacifier and things like that... he did great with the cereal.  He ate it instantly and didn't spit any of it out!

Then I got nervous, because after I had already stopped feeding him and was holding him, he was falling asleep much faster than usual and started coughing like he was choking.  I patted his back and gave him a little water and he was fine, but then just fell right to sleep... it was his usual time to go to bed for the night, but he usually just starts to get sleepy then falls asleep all the way in his crib, and is usually a fairly light sleeper... but he fell asleep all the way in my arms, and when I changed his diaper, he didn't even wake up, then I laid him down and he still didn't wake up... I keep going in to check on him... he's making me nervous... anyone experience this type of behavior?

We are to the point Reece is taking 7 oz of milk every 5 hours.  Sometimes he's hungry before his 5 hours.  He loves his bananas and cereal mixed.  He can swallow now and doesn't usually tongue it out and he opens his mouth when you put the spoon up to his mouth.  He's a piggy too!!!

I wish I can sya the same for Nicole! She's a little pig.  I give her the sweet potatoes(I know bad mommy but the milk wasn't enough even with cereal) and she then drinks a 40z bottle with cereal and she doesn't fall asleep.  She stays up laughing and playing and babbling.  Then two hours later she's hungry again!

It is just more substance on his belly, Think how you feel after a BIG meal, nap time right! He probly rested better, even though you didn't! Addy has been on cereal now since 2 weeks b/c of reflux. We just recently changed her formula to Enfamil AR which has the rice starch in it already, no messey mixing! It has been great, She has also started baby food, which when she started eating baby food, she slept even MORE! So all is normal! He is a growing big boy mama!

lol yes when i first started giving madison cereal b4 bed she would eat a little bit and then pass out asleep almost instantly and sleep pretty much all night...doesn't work as good as it did now... now she still stays up a bit after eating and like to talk all night till she makes her self tired lol she will literally be half asleep and try to stay up and just keeping talking and laughing lol it's cute.... eventually she just wears herself out. madison has tried cereal, outmeal, and 3 kinds of baby food. she doesn't like peaches, makes her spit up and she gagged all 3 times i tried to feed her it. but she loves applesauce and banana's lol
