My scary saga
Well, this baby is turning this pregnancy into an epic. Saturday I got pain on the right side of my back and round under my ribs, gradually got worse as the week went on and hurts when I breathe in. I thought it was pleurisy which I am susceptible to in pregnancy. Went the doc yesterday and was told chest is clear, not pleurisy but all my symptoms could point to a blood clot!!!!!!!! Doc didn't know whether to refer me to the A and E or not, in the end she said wait for your husband to get in from work and if it gets worse go down. So I go home and am making the tea and she phones to see how I am and to tell me she has a niggling feeling... now I'm panicking!! I ran down to the out of hours service, as I knew the A and E would be a long wait. I told this doc my symptoms, again sounded my chest, said it was clear and probably through coughing I have pulled a muscle. I asked if it could be a blood clot and he said no, you can hear a clot when listening to the chest plus a blood clot doesn't start in the lungs it travels from the leg or arm. He gave me cream and sent me on my way. Well, what does everyone think, who would you believe? Oh just got the cream and not doing much at the moment but the pain isn't that bad anyway if I rest!
Well I'm still here and yes the cream has helped slightly but now for the second time there is blood in my urine and I am worried about that now!! I feel like there is no end to all these problems! The first time there was blood and protein and it came back from the lab as normal, no culture grown. This time she said it's full fo blood, not that I can see any and the urine is clear. But if it's not an infection then what is causing all this? Also the top number of my blood pressure has been up twice. Now the first doc said that's nothing to worry about but then yesterday the other doc was worried, so it seems one person is telling me one thing and then someone else is telling me different things. On top of that the uterus was felt at the belly button when it should be well past now, so the baby may be small but none of this was said at my scan last week, she said the baby was an average size. Worry, worry, worry, I've had enough of it all... I sometimes wish I could be left to get on with it!
Goodness I guess I missed this one too! The Dr. is probly right about not being a clot, they usually do travel from a limb, you would have felt the pain there first. They usually end up in like the heart or lung. Let us know how you are!
i just ran across your post and was wondering how things were working out. Does it still bother you? Did the cream start to work? Just checking on you!
