re-usable nappies

sorry another post! just wondering if anyone is going re-usable nappies? or are you sticking to diposable?
Me and graham are still debating! we are thinking maybe using disposable when going out and about and re-usable when at home or popping over to family.

i found some today online called happy heinys they adjust to 4 different sizes so you buy 1 and it fits from 8 pounds to 35. they are a bit more expensive but youend up buying less.,i think i may buy some of those. they seem a bit cheaper on ebay.

ya me too, disposable for going out in is a must, who wants wet diapers in the diaper bag?

i bought some by kushies, i dont know if they have that brand thier.i noticed when i was there alot of stuff is the same but go by different brands. the kushies have a waterproof outside so if they do leak its not as bad. i have bought some organic baby shampoo, bum cream and so forth. i have some by burts bees and gaia. i was surprised Connor was all for it, i thought he would think i am crazy for wanting to use cloth diapers but he thinks its a good idea. the other thing  my gf told me is to steal some from the hospital, at least over here they use cloth ones at the hospital. so i think i'll try and nab a few!! lol

Hkenny- which ones are you actally using? im either looking at tots bots or little lambs! im also an organic freak, i love all that sort of stuff ie -creams and clothes, my boys only going to have the best lol!!

Theres just so soft and cute! i think as its my first i just want to try everything! my mum thinks im mad and probably wont stick to it, but im definatly going to try lol!

Kiki- yes i think im defiantly going to go disposable for going out and about, graham agrees instead of carrying a stinky nappy round with us for the day lol!

HAHAHAHA! Not me, been there done that! LOL I think it's great that you all are trying! I don't have the patiance. I did invest in some, although I use them for burpie cloths! they are pretty absorbant.  Good Luck.

I will say Claire that just doing them at home does seem like a pretty good idea, but wearing them while out and about...very brutal!

claire you are soooooooooo cute!! re-usable nappies AKA cloth diapers for those of us on this side of the pond. LOL> my granny says that too so i knew what you ment!!

I plan to for as long as possible, I bought some already and they seem easy, plus a friend of mine just had her baby on the 10th and I have been helping her with her 18 month old, she is using them on her newborn and they are easy to use. She has an extra insert in them so for some changes she doesnt even change the whole thing just changes the insert, it depends on how much she peed.as for washing them she just rinses them in the sink and throws them in the wash, the nice thing is newborn poo doesnt smell and if you are going to breastfeed it wont smell. I also have bought some  disposables for going out in. I just feel like with such sensitive newborn skin I would want cotton on my bum instead of plastic!! I am also only using chlorine free disposable diapers for going out not the regular brands. I am a stickler for organic stuff. I know over there its much more common than here. I use organic products myself ( face lotion, body wash ect) so I plan to do the same for baby.
