when do we start our period after post partum?

hey ladies i was just wondering if anyone knows the normal for when i should start my period after post partum  bleeding. mine stopped at 4 wks and madison is now 7 wks old so should it be soon. just didn't now any info would be great. thanks ladies.

i still have not had a period, and yes i have taken a pregnancy test but thank God it was neg.

jen is indeed pregnant with number 3 doesn't know sex yet but about 12 wks i do believe

Jen what happened? were you pregnant or just a false alarm

ok i had daniel on May 28th and had my first period aug 1, it went for about 4-5 days stopped and then started a day later, stopped for a day and spotted another day... hopefully next month it will be more regular

wow omg, good luck and congrats i am going to take another one if i do not start by the first of 15th bc when i had the brown spotting with no period on the 15th of last month....
i know it's shocking but everything happens for a reason.

i get cramps too jen but no period at all since madison neg preg test thank goodness, and a lil bit of brown and pic spotting for like 2 days but it only happened twice (once each day) lol just take a test and see. i want another one too but not for about 2-3 years so i can enjoy it all.

well.... I saw my "period" on May, around Mid May.  June came and went and I didn't see a period at all.  I'm freaking out because I don't want to be pregnant so soon.  I had very light spotting and I tol DH and he was like "why you sound so excited".  I guess he wants another one!!! I want another one but not now!! I get alot af bad cramps but no period.

yes i agree i want to wait until at least 2 years lol to enjoy madison.  yes my friends babies will literally be 10 1/2 months apart lol i would freak out and not know what to do if i were to get pregnant so soon after having madison i'm just getting completely healed from c-section and i do not want 2 children under the age of 1

I am the same way i have a good freind who had a baby in Feburary and her period was never normal and then found out 2 weeks ago that she is preggers again.  I don't know what i would do if i found out so soon afterwards!  I loved being pregnant, but i need to enjoy this little one before i have the next!!!

lol yes i agree i know it takes time to heal but first thing that came up for me was pregnancy haha i bled for 4 wks and on june 15th i had very little pink and brown spotting ONCE and a lil the next day ONCE then gone and nothing so i'm not missing it but was just a lil worried i have a friend who found out she was 3 months pregnant bc she had never had a period after her son, so scared me lol

I can't believe you still haven't gotten it yet...I had one that ended like a week ago and now i'm starting again.  My body is in like overdrive making up for not having one for 9 months!!  I actually was worried about implantation bleeding when i started bleeding this morning.  It's crazy how we know our bodies aren't back to normal yet, but our brains automatically go to pregnancy :)

well here it is almost 10 wks since i've had madison, monday will be 10wks, and i have still not had a period what the heck? is this normal or what.... i even got scared of being pregnant again but had a neg test not upset over not having a period love it actually but didn't know if i should be worried bc i feel like i have a sour stomach every day so didn't know if that could be from no period yet.

daniel is 1 month old today.... wow time flies... still no period, but not much bleeding or spotting for me either... i dont mind but am ready to get body back on track.  had my post partum ob appt wednesday and i have already been released to do whatever i want to do.  i go in on tuesday for my pre op appt. to see what can be done for hernia repair... i am not happy about going under the knife again but she might be able to do a revision on the scar tissue and basically do a tummy tuck while she is in there.. that would be nice.  

oh i asked my doc HOW he tied my tubes... he clamped them

Yeah i got all of a 4 day break and started my period... I am so ready for my body to get back to normal!!!

daniel weighed in at 9lb 11oz yesterday has gained 1lb 7oz since leaving hospital..3 weeks tomorrow

glad to hear kiki u had a 2 day period too bc i had some spotting that day and the following day but nothing since and it is freaking me out. i blead for wks but the last week of the bleeding was so light and barely there. thanks for all the info hope all is going well with everyone and yes joyce it's crazy how time flies, madison will be 8 wks old on monday the 22nd.

Oh yeah gotta be careful don't want another little one quite yet!!!  When i went back for my check up w/ my ob they perscribed what they call the "mini-pill".  It is birth control that has just progesterone in it since estrogen can cause my milk to dry up.  I am not sure if it as effective or not i have to research it a little, but until i know for sure we will be using other protection also.  Then 4-6 monhs from now i can go back on my regular birth control.
