worried

Hi

went for my midwife appointment, bp is up (140/90 then went to 150/ 99 when I got to the hospital ) and trace protein in urine.  was sent to the hospital to be monitored and have to go back tomorrow to have bloods done to see if it's preeclampsia.  Now I don't do well when it comes to health issues, as I catastrophise everything.  I am thinking allsorts and worried for the baby and me.  Doc said if bloods point towards problems tomorrow I will be induced, if all is ok then they will leave me.  I know some of you ladies have had preeclampsia (if I'm right)  please put my mind at ease and let me know we're going to be alright.  I've been testing my bp at home and it's still up!!   I also had my membranes sweeped and doc said cervix is opening and he could feel baby's head!

well, I had all the bloods done and thank God all came back normal, so I am totally relieved!  I just have to go to my hospital appointment monday now, as I will be overdue then.  I am in real agony underneath now since the sweep, so I am hoping she will be here before Monday, but we'll see!  Thanks everyone!!

I figure they will induce you tomorrow. You would would definately know if the pre-eclampsia was taking over, (excruciating head aches, swelling, numbness, tingling) Just keep an eye out, express your concearns and be real whinney, maybe that will sway them to induce! Good luck honey!

With you being so close to your due date, I don't see why they don't just go ahead and induce to correct this blood pressure issue.

Yes, my bp has been in the 140s/90s.  After I started the meds the top number lowered to 120-130s but the bottom number has continued to be high.  Yesterday at my appointment when I got there it was 132/100.  It finally got down to 130/90 and they let me go home.

you can only have it once your reach your due date, they only did mine a bit earlier because I was at the hospital and only have 2 days to go.  But if you go to your given date , you can have it then!!  Your midwife can do it for you!!

thanks krushing for the supportive words!!  Has your bp been this high?  I used to have high blood pressure for a while but it went away and this pregnancy upto now has been fine, so that's why they are concerned with the change.  did you also have bloods done to test for this?

Mandy, I've been dealing with high blood pressure for about a month now.  Taking meds and they aren't working as well as they should.  I'm fine and baby is fine.  That's why I go weekly for NST to make sure blood pressure doesn't have a bad effect on my baby.  But, because my blood pressure is still up, that is why my doc is inducing at 38 weeks.  She doesn't want to wait any longer.  As long as you are still feeling your baby move, your doctor will do what is best.  And if induction is that, then go for it.  Sounds like you are in good hands.  Let us know how your blood tests go.  You and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers!!!  But, I think you are going to be just fine!!!!
