So confused... Help!

Hi All,

I hope someone can help and put my mind at rest!  
I am currently 31 weeks pregnant today, which takes the beginning of my pregnancy to July 25th 09.  I have PCOS so very irregular cycles, about 2 a year, and i think the last one was March 09.  I have a scan at 6 weeks and the dates have only differed 1 or 2 days up to now.  I know the scan they did is based on gestastional age, so it;s added the two week period in as if my period had started on the 25th July.
My question is, when did I conceive?  I had intercourse with an ex on the 4th July, just this one time, and my b/f from August once we got back together.  I think that I should have conceived from 25th to 8th August??  I keep reading so much that you cannot be accurate if you don't know when your LMP was, but i thought the scan at 6 weeks would be pretty damn accurate?

No problem Im always here to help.  And yea the 6 week scan would be the most accurate.  They always say to go by the first u/s.. Was a vaginal, cause if so those are even more accurate.  And no I'm pretty sure that's not what happened.  The sperm is what can live up for a certain amount of days but its only a couple/few days. so July 4th would be too many days.  And I can only imagine how confusing your cycles are.  I didn't know my last period so that's why they did a vaginal screening, and I was 11 weeks at that time.  Now I'm 30 weeks and Due may 7th.  And your one week ahead of me, which would put your conception date a week or so ahead of mine, which would be at the very end of July and Beginning Of August.  July 4th is way to early.  and yes you are absolutely right, regardless of knowing your last period, the scan will know how far along you are. Like I said there's a period of about 7 days or so that you could have conceived, you'll never know the exact date.  Sometimes when you think about something so much then you start to believe its true.. Don't worry Its defiantly not your ex boyfriends.  I hope I made sense and you understand if not feel free to contact me by message

Thanks for this.  This problem with those due date calculators is that I don't have a 28 day cyle.  Mine are anything from 20 days to 200! so they're no good.  Am I right in saying that regardless of when your LMP was (say normal lady with 28 day cyle) that a early scan will be more accurate?  I suppose I'm just worried that the scan I had at 6 weeks was totally wrong and it could have put the conception back to the 4th July?? Or If the scan was right could it have taken from the 4th July to August sometime for the egg to travel to the Uterus??  Or am Ijust being silly??

have you tried using one of those test on the internet using you due date to calculate your conception date?  Im due May 7th so your a week ahead of me. I conceived around August 9 through the 15th ish or something so I would imagine you conceived a week prior to that putting it at maybe the third through the 8th. ull never really know the exact day.  But if your wondering about your ex, dont worry July 4th is too early for it to be when you conceived..
