Number of scans/ultrasounds?

I'm just curious. We had 3 ultrasounds in about 20 weeks with our first - first, to decide due date since my cycles were irregular, then one when the doc couldn't find the heartbeat and then the anatomical one. I thought that was a lot compared to friends of mine but reading posts on here, it seems some people are getting several, even during routine care. I'm curious if those people are in the US, Canada, UK, etc? Or, maybe I'm just reading about those who have non-routine cases? Our plan, unless something comes up, is to have one about 20 weeks for the anatomical check. Anyone else planning on only one?

Thanks for the reply. I hope with the extra monitoring, the complications are expected to be controlled!

Well with my 1st pregnancy I had 3 sonos and with my 2nd I had 4 before 20 weeks and then 1 every week after until I delivered at 39 weeks. And now I'm 11 weeks pregnant and have already had 3 sonos but I have a lot of complications during pregnancy. My OB told me they usually do 3. Oh and I'm in Texas.
