Cost of hospital stay?

So I'm going by the hospital tomorrow to drop off preregistration forms and will betrying to get info about how much this whole thing is going to cost, but I was hoping I could get some feedback ahead of time so that I don't pass out..... ((I had a c-section 3 years ago but had different insurance and it didn't cost me a penny)).

I am having a c-section andhave already paid for my OB to do the surgery, etc, so what I'm asking about is the anesthesiologist, hospital stay, etc.

Can anyone tell me how much the overall cost of this whole thing might be? I know its different everywhere and with everyone, but I just wanted some ranges.

As high as those numbers are, its kind d of what I expected. At 23k, I will be paying $2,300, so it could really be worse I guess. I really took my free last c-section for granted!

It varies depending on where you are. It's gonna be a whopper especially if their c section stay is a mandatory 3/4 days. When you pre register they will be able to give you an estimate. I've had 3 sections going on 4 and my first (13 years ago) cost me 15K in hospital alone. So it really depends. I had insurance that covered all my other pregnancies. But I saw the bill for my last child and it was 23k I was in the hospital 4 days I live in Montana.

I'm in Arizona and my husband makes just enough money that I don't qualify for anything through the state. And I have Aetna health insurance, but we still owe 10% of the total cost.... I'm just not sure what that will be. We have friends who owed over $10,000 :(.

I don't know where you are but I'm glad I'm not there. Lol I'm going in as a public patient and its not costing me anything. But it is a public hospital. My doc appoints only cost me occasionally and even when they do I get half the cost back through Medicare rebate. I have heard we have it pretty good compared to other places though. Hope it doesn't cost you too much. :)
