I had problems with my first...but back then he was the only child and i could spend all my energy on him. I breastfed him for 11 month. With my second it was very easy, no problems at all. I stopped breastfeeding her at 6 month as i was going back to work. And soon as you start feeding half breast half bottle most babies will not be interested in a breast anymore. Unfortunately with my 3rd baby i have only lasted 3 weeks and had to give it up on Monday. But she was born 4 weeks early and has a little tongue tight.
I hope you baby would be as good as my second :) good luck.

The beginning can be difficult. What I think is the hardest part is getting baby to latch properly. My best advice is to have a lactation consultant see you while you are still in the hospital and help you to get baby to latch on properly. Plan on having sore nipples in the beginning, this too has a lot to do with baby latching correctly. I recommend having lanolin on hand, this works wonders on sore nipples, and can be found in the baby section of most stores by the breast feeding supplies. To get your milk to come in and stay its important to nurse frequently and stay very well hydrated. I've heard that eating oatmeal can help with milk production but I've never tried this. I hope this helps. I loved breastfeeding my first two despite the work involved and am looking forward to breastfeeding this one too.

I thought it would be easy too. I got 8 weeks in with my first then had to go half and half. Then I completely ran out by 4 months. Bub just wasn't putting on weight. I'm hoping this time is different and a can get a bit longer in. Just remember to take it easy. And let bub nurse as much as he wants. My health nurse told me to give bub a dummy at 7 days old and from that he wasn't as interested in me so I never got my milk production up in the start. Drink at least a glass of water each feeding session and then inbetween feeds too. Good luck with it. :) ill keep my fingers crossed for you. :)
