non-stress test - just sharing

Had a non -stress test today. Ultrasound part was ok but the heart rate was not increasing as much as it shd when baby moved. Baby seemed to have been sleeping for the grand total of almost 3 hrs I spend at the l & d. They palpitated belly,  got juice to drink trying to coax baby to move. We finally barely made it so we are going back tomorrow again to be checked - at least the placenta is not aged as yet. Told doctor that if do not get good results we are open to taking baby out,  though under normal circumstances I would have loved to go all the way to my due date. Baby is 37 + 1 wks.was hoping to give baby all the immunity possible from me.

Yes its the one. Though I do not push any button coz the machine seems to do the recording of contractions and the heart rate. The heartrate was just average - like baby perpetually sleeping. Was told that babies go through 20 minutes of sleep/wake cycle but mine seemed to be continuously sleeping coz it seas not going high for a long time.

Non-stress test? What is that? Is it the same thing as them hooking you up to a little machine to check for contractions and baby hb and they have you push a button everytime bubs moves - hiccuping not counted.
