baby shower

I'm just wondering when someone is hosting your baby shower do they buy the decorations and do all the decorating? And do they supply all the food etc my mother in law wanted to throw our shower but not sure if I should buy the invitations and decorations or if she does. Thanks!!

I was beginning to throw my own shower and then I was told the shower is supposed to be thrown FOR me. So I just handed over what I had to my sister and friends and they are taking care of it. I'm glad I did my own invites though because I don't know if everyone I want would have gotten them otherwise.

My sister in law is throwing my shower. I have asked if there was anything she needs me to get and I am always told no. She did "let" me address the envelopes and mail invitations.  
You can offer to help and see what she says.
