I also tested positive for that preterm labor fetal fibronectin test.
I went to l&d on Thursday at 32+6 because I had noticed an increase in bh contractions and less movement of baby. They monitored and I was in preterm labor. I received a shot to try and stop labor that didn't work, I ended up on an iv with fluids and medication, I also was given pills continually for two more days straight and received two shots to help the babies lung development. My Dr needs me to make it to at least 34wks but our goal is 35wks. I'm currently on complete bed rest...hopefully our little ones bake a little bit longer!
That's how I was with my last son. He was born at 37+3 6lbs 2oz and perfectly healthy. Just try and take it as easy to possible.
One of my mates is in the same position. She had hospital rest for 3 weeks, bed rest before that for 2. And the cervix kept getting thinner. Shes made it to 37 and a half w now. Gets induced on Monday. On top of what u ladies have said, pills and shot for babies lungs they gave her pessaries, ie like a suppository but in the vagina, for the cervix. It seemed to make a big difference. All I can advise from her situation is eat as much fat as u can make urself. Nuts avocado, good oils seeds. Even a piece of cake every day. Fatter u get at this stage, the fatter bubs will be, the better the survival chances. Oh, and dont move. except to pee n shower. Less calories u use, more bubs gets. Fingers crossed for you both
I'm 32 weeks and I went L&D last night because I had been having consistent contractions for the last 2 days. I tested positive for the fetal fibronectin and was given a shot to stop the contractions. Now I'm on strict bed rest and medication to stop future contractions. I'm terrified too... I'm not prepared and still have so much to do. I hope you make it to 34 weeks and are able to take your baby home. Sending prayers and well wishes!
