They induced me because my son was too big and he was born 4 pounds lighter then the growth scan said and had a hole in his heart and breathing problems do to under developed lungs. Hes 9 now and still has heart problems. Induction is right for some people and sometimes necessary but it's way worse then normal labor and not something I would ever do again for "size". They tried with my daughter too "oh she's almost 9lb" and I refused carried her 2 weeks longer and she was only 6'14.
Be careful with growth scans. I had a friend who was Induced at 37w3d because they told her baby was already 8 pound. Baby was born and barely 6 pound, lungs under developed and had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks.
On my sono at 38 weeks my baby measured 8lbs 9oz and when i went it for my 39 week check up she was already bigger. They took me in last week and tried 3 different times to induce and nothing happen for me so i wish you the best of luck. Ill be 40 weeks in 2days with a gigantic baby lol but shes still super healthy and not in distress so im just having to wait it out. Most likely end up in a c-section though :/
I didn't have a growth scan with my first and it caused complications, my second- due in 16 days- has had growth scans since 32 weeks... and he is measuring right on track
Aww I hope you have your little one before good luck :)
I'm hoping to but not for size reasons. my husband is military and they are deploying him the day before my due date. I'd really like to have him here to meet his son.
Are you hoping to be induced or am I been selfish and impatient haha
That's going to be up to your dr. I had a growth scan at 33 weeks and baby was measuring 37 weeks and 7.5 lbs. I'm 36 weeks pregnant now with a growth scan Friday. My dr did the MAY induce if they think he'll be over 10 lbs.
