Baby Daddy Family Doesn't Care

Hi everyone, I'm 38 weeks today with my first child and my boyfriend's second.  He has a restraining order with his first baby mama and hasn't been and able to see his son in a long time.  To this day, I've been blessed to have 2 baby showers...we're struggling financially as I am the only one working...One of the baby showers from my family and the other from my coworkers.  I haven't gotten anything from his side of the family.  In fact, I'm sure some of his family members don't even know I'm pregnant.  I'm not greedy but I can't help to feel like my son isn't going to get the same attention as his first.  His first is only a year and 6 months.  His mother said she was going to throw me a baby shower but she ended up canceling it 2 weeks before because she had to pay a traffic ticket and couldn't afford it.  I can't help but feel insecure and a little rejected :(

That could definitely be it.   She's probably weary of her sons decisions. If you want her involved in your babies life continue to ensure updates are given to her. Never know, once the baby is born it may be a different story ! :)

Maybe she is having a hard time because she doesnt see the other grand baby and thinks the same may happen and doesnt want to get over attached?

Thank you for your comment.  I'm not really counting on monetary support from his family...I guess I just would want my baby's grandma to give him a little outfit or something like that.  Something to say they live the baby...even a card would mean alot

I'm sure they are excited about the baby. But really, you can't expect any type of monetary support from anyone. Having a child with this person was your decision. Your boyfriend needs to be providing financial support for your new child.
