My labor story

It's took me a while but I finally decided to tell my story. My due date was may 26, but I got induced may 21 at midnight, so it was the 22. Due to being positive for strep b. My doctor decided it was better to be induced so he can have control over the antibiotics that I needed before my baby was born so he wouldn't get it. It wasn't till 3am when they put a pill in me and said that was the lowest dose and slowest to be induced. Since I needed the antibiotics for at least 8 hours. I was dilated to 1 at that time. The nurse came in to check on me a couple of times to see if  I was ok. I asked her if I was gettin contractions often. She said like crazy... they felt like Braxton hicks that I had been feeling for weeks so I asked her to see if they were real contractions. Around 8am they checked me and I was dilated to 4 1/2. The nurse asked me if I wanted to walk but I said no because I didn't want to help my labor progress fast because I wanted to have the antibiotics the hours that I needed them before my baby was born. I did end up walking for about 15 minutes. Around 9am my doctor came in and wanted to break my water because I was dilated to 5 and he said that would speed up things. Well I refused and he got mad and left the room cause he said he had a surgery to do at 1pm and he wasn't going to be able to be there if deliverd at that time. So I decided he could, so he did. Around 10 the nurse checked me and I was still a 5 or so. My contractions did get stronger and stronger. This is my 4th baby by the way. I didn't get a epidural or any pain medicine I was more nervous of the epidural than the pain. After they broke my water I couldn't get up from the bed so I sat up and stayed in that position till it was time to push. Thank God he has mercy on us and we are able to breath and try and relax in between contractions. I was praying and talking to God during those last hrs asking him to help me get thru this. And he did. I was able to relax those few seconds between the contractions. There were contractions that lasted only about 20 seconds and then I would have about a minute to relax and get a bit of strength for the next one. There were moments when I felt that I was going to lose it. But thank God, my hubby, my sis and cousin that I didnt. They were holding my hands and I would rock back and forth and around like if I was sitting on a ball during the contractions. It hurt so much. And to think it was my 4th and I thought it would be less painful. I was so wrong. They checked me again around 12 and I was ready dilated to 10. I remember the nurse telling me " in the next contraction push to see what happens" well that's when I lost it.... I tried to push but the pain was So much that I started yelling like crazy. I could kind of hear them telling me to keep pushing by that time the doctor was already in there getting ready. I don't exactly remember how many times I pushed, my cousin said it was like 4 times and my baby was born. His cord was wrapped around him 4 times. I thank God for my healthy baby boy. The doctor and nurses were so surprised that my cord was so long they said it was a miracle my baby was ok. He was born at 12:11pm weighing 8 lbs and 21.5 long.
