I am also being induced at 39 weeks because my baby is 7 and a half lbs already (at 36 weeks) and already starting to dilate. At least now I know that by May 14th I will have my baby in my arms (if I don't go into labor early) and I was upset when I found out how big my daughter is. But like my doctor said, "it's better to have a bigger healthy baby, then a small baby that isn't getting the nutrients it needs." Hope that helps! :)
Do what makes you comfortable

That doesn't sound that big. Mine was 7.6 at 35 weeks. I'm being induced at 39 weeks because of gestational diabetes.
