Breastfeeding?

This question is more for the moms that have a child. Has there been anyone that has successfully breastfed your child(ren) after going back to work at 6 weeks? I really want to breastfeed, but I'm reading some of the other stories that other moms are struggling to keep milk production up while having to pump and struggle with the change. I just want to know if there is hope for me to succeed.

I went back at 8 weeks and breastfed my son until he was 18 months. Make sure you start nursing right away and after the first couple of weeks start adding a pumping session in to build your supply. When you go back to work make sure to pump anytime that you would normally have nursed. You have the right to pumping breaks and a space to pump. Don't let them bully you. You can do this.

I breastfed until 12 months and pumped everyday at work. That was after having gallbladder surgery when my daughter was 6 weeks old and going back to work after 10 weeks. It is challenging, but you can do it!

Your bosses can't be on you about your bathroom breaks or if you need to pump.  I hate to suggest this but I had to document every encounter where negative attention was given for pregnancy and pumping. Sad as it was it was the women that created the problem.  Mostly because of jealousies. When I left that was part of my exit interview.  Companies get very parinoid about getting sued for violating protected classes.  I would encourage you to learn the law/ordinances for your area.  Also keep in mind there are advocate groups for pregnant and post pregnancy moms.

Just do what you need to in order to protect yourself and that bundle of joy.

I'm just wanting this to go smoothly because I couldn't breastfeed my son and would love to be successful with my daughter.

Sorry,  posted before i finished...then at about 4 weeks i was back to full time and pumped lots at work.  Get a good breast pump. I like Medela. And keep in mind your workplace had to provide you somewhere to pump that's sanitary. My bosses secretary tried to tell me to pump in the bathroom one day and i told her that was illegal and was eventually told i could use an open briefing room.

Well I have to go back at 6 weeks and I'm kinda worried that she either won't latch right agent I go back to work or she won't take a bottle.

I breastfed my first for 18months and i went back to work at twelve weeks. I pumped on my ten minute breaks and my lunch break. It's definitely time consuming but it can be done!
