disposable nappies

Hi ladies, im starting to confuse myself. Im planning to use disposable nappies for my newborn until his poo is stable, after which i will switch to cloth nappies and just wash these.
Q:How long would I be able to newborn disposables?(trying to figure out how many to bulk buy for until I can switch to cloth thus, how quickly does a newborn grow out of these size disposables?)
Im looking at huggies, pampers but what i would prefer to use(due to great reviews) is moltex eco diapers (trying to compare price and quantity required). If you havent heard of moltex, what are you finding with the first two brands? Any good? I want the least chemical disposable nappy.

Good luck to you! Cloth is not as hard people make it sound and they are way cuter!

Thanks for the advice. I'm a ftm and I'm seriously planning to breastfeed if possible...would also like to be prepared in case baby ends up with formula (hope not!) Ok, a month to 6 weeks sounds do-able with newborn disposables. The reason for going for the eco-disposable route was just that I've heard cloth nappies might be more difficult to clean if you start newborn baby with these. Also, just a backup for ease in the first few days - weeks and minimise nappy rash.
I will now check out (flushable) biodegradeable liners too, as these may be more economical than biodegradeable/nonchemical disposable nappies.

I will be cloth diapering as well. Is this your first? How long baby will fit in newborn will depend on their size. This is my fourth and she will most likely be 7 to 7.5 pounds, so she will fit in NB for about a month to 6 weeks. Also, you can use cloth with a disposable,  biodegradable liner (many are flushable) if you would like, the Viva paper towels work well also (don't flush). If baby is exclusively breast fed, the poop will be water soluble, I'm not sure what you're planning to do so I thought I would add that.
