electric or manual breast pump?

Hi girls, just wondering what pump is better to use? The electrical pump is very pricey, but if it's the best to use then I'll get it. I don't know about you all, but buying the goodies for baby ends up in a pretty penny, so I'm trying to save where I can.

And hang in there, we're almost crossing the finish line!
Xx

I never had an electric one, only a manual. That thing hurt my hands and boobs so bad and barely drew out any milk. Electric ones have speed/suction controls for the mothers comfort. I plan on getting an electric one this time around.

Electric!!!! Manual is terrible! Check with your insurance because mine covers the cost completely - no copay , deductibles, etc. You just have to order it within a month of your due date.

My cousin and I just had the same discussion a few days ago. Apparently things have gotten better for mother's looking to breastfeed, many insurances will cover the cost of a breast pump up to a certain amount. Check with your insurance. When i had my son about 8 years back they only covered the cost of renting an electric pump and that may have only been b/c he was very premature. However now since they don't want our babies being sick all the time they're encouraging breastfeeding by paying for electric pumps. Good luck

By far the electric one! Best to invest in a high quality as it will be so much easier for you (quicker as well)

Electric Breast Pump is the best, I think and most insurance companies will pay for it.

If you can only get one,  i would get an electric one, much faster and convenient. I got one of each with my last pregnancy and kept the manual in the diaper bag for "emergencies"
