Pumping to induce?

Has anyone tried pumping to induce labor? I'm so close and considering it to jump start things.  2 days until my due date and at the last appointment 1 week ago I was just over 3cm and 50% effaced.

Haha, I'm with you just achy and crampy today but 4cm and 80% effacex, so close! Just need the contractions to start!

Mine is tomorrow, hope I have the same report! I pumped for almost 2 hours on and off yesterday but didn't start feeling anything until today. I've been hoping all day they get bad and I have to head to hospital lol

Giving it a go today! I'm doing it for 15 minutes at a time, and my back is starting to hurt a little more. Hopefully it works! I haven't gotten anything though so that stinks.

Keep your juice.  You will need it.  When I was a working mom my husband wasted some of my expressed milk.  That is liquid gold.  I think I was more hormonal over that than my entire pregnancy.
He said my expression was like the girl in the exorcist movie.  ;-)

Do you keep your milk/colostrum? Or just dump it after?

I'm doing it tomorrow...I didn't want a holiday baby lol. Anyway, my midwife said an hour a day since anymore could cause strong contractions or distress. I'm using the pump in style so hopefully it works. I was almost 3cm and 50% thinned out Friday. Good luck either way!! :)

Well I'm not dedicated enough to do 3 hours,  but I was going to try 15 minutes. I'm going to wait until tomorrow after a good night's treat just in case.

I've read that you need to pump about 3 hours a day for it to work. I've also read that if you over do it, it can flood your system with too much oxytocin and make your contractions really strong. Not sure how much of that is true since both readings had conflicting information.

I haven't personally, but a friend of mine did to jump start hers. She said walking wasn't cutting it and so she tried a manual pump just to see what would happen. 2 hours later she was going into labor!
