Due to having a small place, I was thinking about having a baby shower tea party but maybe at a tea and cake cafe with an area booked for us. People can order tea (and we may supply cake/cupcakes) and if they are hungry, they can order their own food. If we had our own place we would supply cake and tea but this is the next best thing I guess. Nothing planned as yet, this was just my idea, I haven't even invited anyone or let my hubby know I want a babyshower...but prepared not to have one too.
I think that it would better to just have like drinks n cake n coffee or something simple instead of having ppl bring stuff tome it would b cheaper for,you and then u don't have to,worry bout asking ppl
Do a theme. Dessert potluck, snack potluck etc that way it's not full course meals and more time for playing games and chatting! Several free and fun ways to keep guests busy at a baby shower, just use google!
My work is putting on a shower for me and it is a potluck to help reduce cost. No one seems to mind and I'm getting excited for all the different foods... If someone is hard up for money and can't bring a whole dish maybe they will bring crackers or chips so it is less expensive for them.
I think that's a great idea. Never been to a potluck shower before but I would go and be willing to bring a snack. I would go about it like "please feel free to bring your favorite party snack!" maybe people will get creative and you'll have snacks for a week!
