bedrest update

Had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and my doctor said I can start coming off bedrest. She was surprised and happy I made it this far (spent a week in the hospital at week 28.5 fighting pre-term labor). She said one more week of medication (Procardia) and I can come off that as well. While this news makes me happy in a way, I still think it's too early and I'm afraid. I'm just into my 35th week.  When I read online that "full term" is considered 38 weeks, does that mean the start of week 38, or the completion of week 38? I understand that baby would most likely be ok if born now, but ideally I'd like to keep him where he is until at least "full term".
Hope everyone is doing well, especially my fellow bed rest buddies.

Way to go!!!!
Yep, our steroid shots have made a huge difference for us!!!
I am a bit jealous of you getting off of bed rest!!  My Dr. told me yesterday that it could happen within a week...I am 35 weeks tomorrow so I need to continue very strict bed rest and continue the meds.  The boy is as far down as he can go...the girl is still breech.  He is afraid if the boy drops anymore, he will have to come out vaginally and c-section the girl....ugh!!!

I am in the same position as you. After 36 weeks the specialist has told me to stop taking the procardia and I can go off strict bedrest. I think because we have had the steroid shots given that we should be fine,so dont worry.

Everyone i know including my Dr. has told me that 37 weeks would be considered full term. Even if you were to go into labor now your baby would have a higher percentage of being just fine compared to you going into labor weeks ago. Dont worry and relax. You have a few  more weeks to go :)

I've heard different things about when you are considered 'full term' I've heard anytime after 36 weeks and also 37 (I think it just depends on the doctor) So I wouldn't worry too much. I'd just take it easy even if you are not technically on bedrest. Its great you've made it this far!
But either way if its 36 or 37 you are only 1-2 weeks away!

Good luck!
