Bleeding........

I am 21 Weeks and a few weeks ago while my boyfriend and I were having sex I ended up bleeding. So this is what I figured. We had some intercourse before we started having sex so I think thats what ended up causing it. It wasnt spotting but a little bit of blood came out and I even had to wear a pad to bed after words (it was in the evening). I had no pain at all we didnt even realise I was bleeding until we were done. I got really worried but I did some research on the internet, and the only possible thing I can see happen was they say that the cervix is very sensitive and with the incress blood supply we must of broken a blood vessel. I havent had any problems excepted crampming but they dont last long and Ive had them since the start and they arnt all the time, my doctor and research says cramping is normal because your body is getting use to all the weight your uterus is putting on you and like I said I didnt have any when I was bleeding. Im seeing my doctor this week so I am going to mention it to her. But I am really not going to worry about it too much because I have been doing so well. I just dont want to have sex until I know for sure whats going on. So what do you think?

Well it sounds like what you think is the issue.....is probably just that.  You just broke a blood vessel.  It happened to me as well.  My doc said to use lube in the future but we didnt have to stop having sex. And you 2 may need to be watchful of positions or the "intensity" of your sex sessions if it happens again.  (sorry not trying to get too personal or sound judgemental)  But Im sure you are fine!! :-) I say just follow up w/your doc in a few days at your appt and have them check you out!

I would too abstain from sex, but I think I would notify your doctor ASAP - b/c they may want to double check and make sure everything is okay.  It sounds like to me that everything is fine, but I would rather be safe than sorry in these type of circumstances.  Call you doctor and let them know what is going on and if they think they need to see you sooner than your scheduled appt they will tell you.  I hope everything turns out fine and I am sure it is! Hugs!
