Lower right side, dull back ache pain...

I'm 27 years old, and about 24 weeks pregnant. My hubby & I just recently found out we're having another girl! We have one daughter who is almost 6 now...

I just had a question about some back pain I've been having. About 2 weeks ago, I woke up in the morning and felt like I had to pee bad, like I had a pressure on my bladder. I went to the bathroom, but still had the feeling. I thought it was the baby, & went back to sleep. An hour later, I woke up with a horrible tightening, cramping, sharp, dull aching pain in my right lower back on the side. My hubby rushed me to the ER where I was diagnosed with a kidney stone & UTI. Supposedly I had bacteria & blood in the urine. The doctor on call checked me, and I was not dilating, & wasn't having contractions. They gave me some pain meds, antibiotics & sent me home. But ever since the event, I have had an aching sensation in my lower right back on the side. I seen my OB recently after the event, and he just brushed it off as residual kidney stone pain, or normal back pain. I don't remember passing a stone... I had a normal ultrasound, normal BP, and normal urine test at the last OB appointment. The doctor never did any bloodwork on me though. I have high BP, and am on labetalol 2 times a day for it. So far it is controlling it. Any other moms here had similar pains? Thanks.

I went through something similar yesterday...I ended up in the ER as well, in ridiculous amounts of pain. They rushed me up to the birthing ward right away to monitor me and the baby.
I also had blood in my urine, although the bloodwork didn't show an infection in my kidneys or bladder.
I was in so much pain, even with a dose of tylenol 3+codeine then demoral. It wasn't until  they discharged me last night around 6pm with a double dose of tylenol3+codeine that I finally couldn't feel the pain.
I'm assuming it was then that I finally passed the stone, which was extremely small or hasn't come out of my urine yet. Since the pain meds helped me relax, it must have allowed things to move down.
I'm now on antibiotics for a week and hoping that the pain on my left side will dwindle. I know based off the u/s my kidneys are a bit swollen, but apparently it's very common since the progesterone slows down the organ muscles and things can get blocked. Plus also the uterus growing and pushing on these organs...

It wasn't until I was in extreme pain that I finally caved and went to the ER, however the whole day before(Sat) I knew something was wrong and just assumed it was a strained muscle.

Lesson learned: if you have any slight pain or uncertainties that it's better to be safe than sorry...especially since a bladder infection can cause pre-mature labour!

Hmm if you are maintaining discomfort to that level I would go see a urologist.  I would say that type of pain is not good. Im 24 wks as well and the peeing discomfort I have alot too.

I'm sorry you are in pain! I have been having some back pain but nothing like you've described. I think mine is just my back being out of whack b/c I've been sleeping more on my side and my belly is throwing everything off.

I hope things work out! I also hope someone can help you more than I have... :)
