Welcome to the forum!!
Despite continuing to be sick, I have not lost weight. BUT, I know many ladies who have lost lots of weight in the first few months and all has turned out well.
Thank you all!!! This is so encouraging! I feel much better now that I know there are others out there... i will be calling my American doctor in the morning to update her... over the weekend i lost another 2lbs... this forum has been very helpful for me and thanks again for all the help!
I am 18 weeks today and threw up the first 11 weeks and lost about 5 pounds. I went from 129 to 124.5 pounds. However, once I felt better, I started eating and although I'm not eating any more than normal, and not much junk at all, I've gained about 7 pounds now. Roughly a pound a week since I started eating. I go in on July 3 and I'm sure I'll get a butt chewing from my doc. but oh well. I'm walking 4 miles a day or going to the gym, depending on whether I have kiddos or not so not much else I can do.
I think as long as they are checking your baby and you and baby are healthy- well, as healthy as you can be- I feel SO terribly sorry for you for being so sick. I didn't have any vomiting with my other two kiddos and this one was NOT easy. I'd call you American Doctor and go over everything with him/her and also discuss with your current doc. where you are now and then discuss what they are both saying with your American Doc. Maybe you will come up with a good plan. I will pray that you stop vomiting soon. I've had friends who were in the hospital for several months their vomiting was so bad and I can't imagine. Good luck.
Well I hate to say it....but I will use my doctors line....."you have it to lose".....
I am plus sized as well and weigh about the same as you do when I first got pregnant. And I have lost 30lbs and Im 19wks. There are a few things you have to remember.....
ONE - the baby will take whatever it needs to grow and survive and whatever is left is what YOU get.
TWO - you could very well end up dipping into fat stores for you or the babies needs
THREE- your metabolism increases as your pregnancy progresses to support the rapid growth of the baby. So if you eat the same amounts as you ate before you WILL lose weight.
FOUR - if you breast feed you will lose even MORE weight as fat stores are used often during that time.
Being a larger woman my doctor told me in the beginning he didnt want me to gain more than 15lbs. And the points Ive shared with you came right from him. And as long as the baby and you are healthy the weight loss is a generous side effect. And I have learned every woman and every pregnancy is entirely different. So I really hope your vomitting subsides as that is a miserable way to be. AND CONGRATS!
Well I am 21 weeks now I had a bad time just a few months ago where I was vomiting everyday I wasent loosing weight but I sure wasent gaining any. Loosing weight isnt good not when your pregnant! I dont know what your doctor is talking about. Im on Dicletion its the best for pregnant women. If you can get that you should, try and not to exceed more than two if you dont have to. This one is supose to be the best but they say in the past with other prescriptions for nausea and vomiting for pregnant women there has been bad experiences with the developing of the baby. Two does good with me and with that stuff and my baby is perfectly fine. I hope you get what you need then you will start getting the weight back for your baby. You know that gets me mad when doctors say that stuff because what you throw up is your food and you need all that food for your baby to develop! Anyways good luck with that hope you will get better.
Welcome! I haven't lost weight but I had a lot of morning sickness issues and by 17 weeks had only gained 2 pounds. I'm in Canada and got Diclectin for morning sickness and it helped me a lot. I hope you feel better soon.
