oral surgery

I am currently 15 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I just had my wisdom tooth pulled out. I am a little paranoid and I know i should trust my doctor( i guess cause hes only a dentist and not my OBGYN doc) when he said it was perfectly normal and no harm to the fetus , since the infection i had would have more effect on the baby then getting the tooth pulled. But he gave me an xray before hand and also penicillen(sp?) and told me to schedule a sonogram in a week anyways just in case. I just want to know if anyone has been through the same and i'm just being overly paranoid. Thanx to whoever can help.

From what I've heard, dental surgery, if you have to do it, needs to wait till the 2nd trimester, and since you're already in the 2nd I think you should be ok.  It sounds like they took the necessary precautions.

Sorry about your wisdom teeth, I know that is NOT fun!!

Sorry, I'm not sure. The Mayo clinic website says Penicillin is generally regarded as being safe during pregnancy.  I know x-rays are a concern-did they cover your belly with a lead apron?
